"Perspectives on Wall Street" by jaculis on November 19, 2008, 6:57 am, in category Opinions
As I peruse the daily news, there are far many things worse than the stock market falling down...

Over 500 homes were destroyed almost overnight this past weekend in the region between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles...

I received a plea for fund to help those with multiple sclerosis... that is a rough condition...
I received a calendar from the Parkinson's Association...

...and unlike Boesky, Ebbers, Skilling, [Martha] Stewart, Leeson, Pearlman, Whitacre, and Ken.....

Something to think about! Enjoy your Saturday.

The older I get, the more I enjoy Saturday mornings.
Perhaps it's the quiet solitude that comes with being
the first to rise, or maybe it's the unbounded joy of not
having to be at work. Either way, the first few hours of.....

    Per AP:
"Passengers in Britain faced delays as tighter security was hastily enforced at the country's airports and additional measures were put in place for all flights. Laptop computers, mobile phones, iPods, and remote controls were among the items banned from being carried on board.

Liquids, such as hair care products, were also barred on flights in both Britain and the U.S., raising the possibility that authorities were searching for a liquid explosive.  " .....

"Sustainabilit5y and Moral Responsibility" by jaculis on June 21, 2006, 6:36 pm, in category Business Ethics
You asked about what are the root causes for some of the misalignment of resources with organizational goals.

Let me attempt to answer your question, using a larger context that may be driving your organization.

Unbalanced energies of the personality causing excessive desire, manifested as greed for money, power, sex, or worldy goods often have people think outside the ethical box.   People think beyond their needs, and so take more than theyu return, which is unsusta.....

"Mother-of-Law's" by jaculis on May 15, 2006, 2:11 pm, in category General
We've all heard of the "Laws of Nature", or if not will soon enough.

Let's examine this past week in terms of what Nature has shown us:

In Florida, over 40,000 acres can go up in smoke in less than a week, and then the same fire be put out by rain falling at rates over three inches per hour.
Ratings go up.

In the Northeast, Boston North can get flooded by over 11" of rain in a few days, and thirty miles away, all people can do is look at a grey sky and .....

I am so thurorly disgusted with the whole of this miserable Mexican War that I have no patience even to consider the good qualities of some of our best and bravest men.

This war I firmly believe was provoked by our rulers to gratify a lust for conquest and extend the curse of human slavery.

The movement to using non-toxic shot (pellets) "makes the 20 gauge a better choice", per Field and Stream Magazine (reference below)

For the novice, a 28 ga. shotgun is much smaller than a 12 gauge shotgun.  As the gauge goes.....
